Abstract

The goal for students in this unit is to effectively use rhetorical strategies in an argumentative or informative essay to advocate for their cause. For us to achieve this, students will need to have a firm understanding of rhetoric and how to implement its use effectively. A subgoal for this unit is to increase student awareness of how to become an advocate for the cause that they feel compelled to pursue in the future. For the younger students, the teacher may decide to focus on a predetermined cause to present to the group.
