Abstract

Students will, through the Arizona Water Festival, learn about the water cycle, water
conservation and water management. Once the students have this knowledge, students will
explore parts of the Flagstaff area that have environmental and cultural significance to the area. Students will also learn about how ancient Puebloans lived in the area and how they managed
their water resources in order to survive and thrive in this landscape from leaders of tribal
communities. Students will also learn ways these communities currently use water and will take
all this information and apply it to predicted weather and climate patterns to see how they can
help conserve and preserve water.
