NAU’s Healthcare Components
In accordance with the HIPAA regulations, NAU has identified its HIPAA covered functions as Health Care Components (HCCs), responsible for ensuring the privacy and security of PHI. NAU’s designated HCCs meet the definition of “Covered Entities” subject to HIPAA requirements. NAU’s HCC s must safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of PHI in accordance with HIPAA.

The Health Care Components consist of those programs that meet the definition of “Covered Entity” and have been designated by the HIPAA Privacy Officer. Additionally, organizations performing work for or on behalf of Covered Entities, and which meet the definition of a Business Associate, must establish Business Associate Agreements and comply with the applicable HIPAA rules.

Counseling Services Accordion Closed
Counseling services meets the definition of a HIPAA covered entity when they are acting as health care providers that bill electronically.

The Institute for Human Development (IHD) has been providing comprehensive hands-on AAC evaluations in the Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Tucson areas and remote evaluations statewide to children and adults with complex communication needs for over 20 years.

Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders Accordion Closed
The Speech-Language-Hearing clinic is available for community members and students of all ages, newborn through geriatric. The clinic offers a full range of speech, language, and hearing services, including but not limited to voice evaluation and treatment, cognitive retraining, audiological evaluation and hearing aid dispensing.
