How will a student fit with my organization? Accordion Closed
Flexible student work schedules can be a plus to meet specific project needs. This boost in your manpower is also a cost effective way to expand your workforce without a long term commitment.
How do I become an employer-partner? Accordion Closed
- Contact the Career Development Office program coordinator or director to indicate available position(s) and requirements/qualifications.
- Provide a detailed job description/announcement indicating responsibilities and necessary skills. For academic credit, the percentage of time spent on each duty must be indicated on the job description before a position can be approved. Employers decide whom to interview and hire.
- If a student wishes to earn academic credit for an offered position, a work agreement is established in consultation with the student, the supervising employer, the Career Development Office, and the associate dean.
- If a student is earning credit for their internship, two evaluations (one during the summer) will be mailed to the employer during the semester the student is registered. The employer should fill out the evaluation, discuss it with the student, and return it to the employment coordinator by the deadline.
