Molly Holland, Designer Accordion Closed
Alongside working for the NAU XD team, Molly Holland enjoys creating modern abstract paintings with oil paint, silver metal and LED solar lighting. She appreciates the way the
autonomous creative work she finds in her quiet studio and the Experience Design Team’s high paced integrative tech environment complement, inspire and contrast each other.
Molly does freelance design on the side, and is currently working for a community arts organization and a local interior design company.
Transparency is a value that she holds in high regard and believes it can guide design and art to great results.
Outside of work, Molly’s three teenage daughters, golden retriever and cat all keep her smiling. Other activities include hiking, reading, playing soccer and drinking a lot of espresso.
Lyric Peate, Senior Web Designer Accordion Closed
Lyric Peate joined the NAU Experience Design Team in 2017 and is now a Senior Designer. She is currently working to upgrade JacksPath and helped develop and implement usability testing processes at NAU.
She has a strong background in visual design, having worked two years as a print/web designer and project manager at a boutique design studio in Tucson. Clients included the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, the city of Nogales, and the local publication _Edible Baja Arizona_.
In 2014, Lyric earned her BSD in Visual Communication Design from Arizona State University and completed her Barrett Honors thesis on educating children to think critically about gender stereotypes in products and advertising (with a focus on mainstream toys) through a series of interactive digital exercises.
Lyric enjoys learning about neuroplasticity and methods for practicing mindfulness. Her interest in cognition and love for design led her to pursue a career in UI/UX. She’s also fond of Abba, green tea lattes, and curly hair.
Jason Robinson, Experience Design Team Lead Accordion Closed
Jason has been designing professionally for 20 years, with the last decade focused on experience and product design. By day, he wrangles designers for NAU; by night, he is a husband, father, and freelance Design + UX consultant, with a focus on game design and art direction. He also hosts a podcast about modern storytelling, and a nerdy web community or two.
A background in print design, interaction/interface design, and front-end development allow him to cast a broad vision, and to communicate with designers, developers, business folks, and administrators as needed.
His moment of delight? Learning that a thing our team has created is making some real person’s day less stressful or more delightful.
