Start of the Semester
Course Copies & Combined Sections
Last Chance! Most Spring courses begin Monday, January 14th. Check your sections in Bb Learn now, and if you still need content copied, request it immediately at http://nau.edu/elc/coursecopy. Remember that any course or section combinations must be completed before the semester begins. Please work with your class scheduler right away if you wish to combine sections. More information is available in this knowledge base article.
Classlists Email Tool
Use the Classlists Email Tool to email your students before the semester begins: http://classlists.nau.edu. You can set up a welcome message to email students as they enroll, and you can copy the email address and paste it into your regular email client (Outlook, etc.) if you wish to send attachments (e.g., a syllabus).
Accessing Your Course
Behind the Scenes
Centralized IT Phone Number
The e-Learning Center’s Faculty Help Desk has merged with ITS to provide a single point of contact for Faculty and Staff IT assistance. Call 928-523-3335 for assistance with Bb Learn, Pearson, desktop computing, networking, telecom, classroom support or any other IT support items. Current phone numbers for the Solution Center, the (formerly e-Learning Center) Faculty Help Desk, and Classroom Support will continue to work as we transition to the new, single number.

Ally
Don’t forget that Ally is now integrated automatically into all Bb Learn courses, so instructors will see Ally gauges next to certain types of course content, and students will see links to alternative formats. Ally automatically checks course materials against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 accessibility standards, provides students with alternative formats such as HTML, ePub, MP3 audio, and electronic braille, and offers guidance to faculty to improve the accessibility of their content. Learn more about Ally at Blackboard’s site: https://help.blackboard.com/Ally/Ally_for_LMS.
Blackboard Community
The Blackboard Community site allows faculty and administrators to share tips, suggestions, and yes, frustrations with each other and with Blackboard. Community members can even vote on which features and fixes they’d like to see Blackboard prioritize. Join now at the Blackboard Community site.
