The e-Learning Center (ELC) assists faculty in the effective use of technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Our focus is on the good design and effective delivery of web-enhanced, blended/hybrid, and online courses. We provide phone support, small group training, and one-on-one consultation to help faculty learn to build appealing online courses, develop engaging online teaching methods, and to find or create appropriate media and course materials to encourage student engagement and success.
Message from the Director
NAU has a long history of effective distance learning and community outreach. Teaching online is much more than simply posting videos of your lectures, or uploading your PowerPoint slides into the Learning Management System (LMS). A good online course should have regular and substantive engagement between instructor and students and, in many cases, interaction among students as well. Online courses create opportunities for those who can’t attend in person, and we offer both traditional online and competency-based online courses. e-Learning is here to assist faculty, with the goal of creating engaging and effective online courses that enable the highest levels of student success.
