Dear Faculty:
I’m pleased to announce that in order to better support your teaching and student learning across modalities, we’re in the process of launching a Teaching and Learning Center (TLC). Under the co-direction of Amy Rushall and Flower Darby, the primary focus of the TLC will be to support teaching excellence for all faculty, and to provide instructional design support for Flagstaff Mountain, Phoenix Biomedical, and Yuma faculty who teach in person. In the coming weeks, we’ll assemble a transition team to help shape the new Teaching and Learning Center to best serve your needs.
Additionally, starting on February 1, 2020, Director Larry MacPhee and the rest of the e-Learning Center team will be situated in the NAU Online organizational structure. The primary focus of this team will be to expand high-quality online, competency-based, statewide, and innovative programming. This instructional design team will be a go-to resource for best practices to engage and instruct distance and nontraditional learners online and statewide. In the near future, we will launch an advisory board for NAU Online to help inform and fulfill the mission.
Please direct teaching and instructional design questions and Bb Learn support requests to the LMS Faculty Help Desk using one of the following methods. The help desk team will connect you with the appropriate group to best assist you.
- Email LMS-Faculty-Help@nau.edu or
- Call (928) 523-3335 or (866) 802-5256
This exciting new development demonstrates NAU’s commitment to instructional excellence to support student success across all modalities. Watch for additional email updates over the coming months.
Thank you for all you do to help your students learn and succeed.
Respectfully,
Diane M. Stearns
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
