NPS Academy-Internships

NPS ACADEMY

OVERVIEW:
Since 2011, more than 400 interns have participated in the NPS Academy,
an innovative, experiential learning program designed to introduce
undergraduate and graduate students from under-represented and diverse
communities to careers with the National Park Service.
Program details: Explore NPS careers with a 12 – 16 week summer
internship at National Park sites across the country. Internship focus areas
include visitor services, education, resource management, and more. Kick
off your internship by attending a week-long, expenses paid orientation with
participating interns at Grand Teton National Park in March.
BENEFITS:
-$400/week living allowance stipend
-Housing provided
-Eligibility for AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,600
-Travel reimbursement for approved expenses
-Participate in a week- long spring break orientation and
training in Wyoming in March.
-Hands-on experience
-Additional career preparation and ongoing support
