Student organizations at NAU are created by students, for students. Each club began with curiosity, passion, or a vision for something more. Getting involved is an opportunity to connect with others, explore leadership, and make a meaningful impact. NAU’s student organizations reflect the passions and purposes of our students. If your idea doesn’t exist yet, we’re here to help you bring it to life!

Requirements

• Every student organization must meet the following requirements to be recognized by NAU – NOR Checklist Guide – 2026-2027:
  • Ensure new organization idea does not duplicate another organization
  • Full name of the organization
  • Membership of 5 currently enrolled students
    • To align with the educational and remedial intent of the NAU student/organizational conduct process, no officers and/or other named individuals within a recognized student organization found to be responsible in an organizational conduct proceeding may form a new organization until the sanctions have been completed. Related, the Lumberjack CoLAB Center may request a roster from a prospective organization to compare membership to organizations not in good disciplinary standing.
  • Two officers (at least)
    • must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits at NAU (exception provided to graduate students)
    • must have at least a 2.00 cumulative GPA
  • Select two officers to be added to our Microsoft Teams channel
  • Active full-time NAU faculty/staff advisor
  • Updated constitution/bylaws with a non-discrimination statement, process for removing a member/officer, compliance statement, and contingency statement

Process

• Submit the application to start a new organization through True Blue Connects.
  • Follow the step-by-step guide to filling out the application
• The CoLAB team will review your submission to ensure all requirements are met
• You will receive an email once the submission has been reviewed and all requirements are met. The email will include instructions on the required Officer Training, which must be completed to become fully active.
