Fall Semester

September 12th – ASCE Student Chapter Introductory Meeting – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 101 5:30-6:30 PM

-Introductory meeting for perspective members including pizza, activities, and a presentation on the ASCE organization.

September 26th – Undecided Topic/Presentation – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 101 5:30-6:30 PM

-This meeting will showcase a presentation conducted by a representative of a local engineering firm. Student members will be enabled to ask questions and discuss with the professionals about items pertaining to their specific field of engineering.

October 2nd – Northern Arizona Branch ASCE Golf Tournament – 10:30-12:00 PM – Flagstaff Ranch Golf Course

-This Golf Tournament serves to support the NAU Student Chapter of ASCE. Lunch will be included and a post-game dinner will follow with prizes awarded to top teams.

October 10th – Kimley-Horn Presentation – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 101 5:30–6:30 PM

-A professional engineer from one of Arizona’s Kimley-Horn offices will be discussing professional applications of civil engineering and surveying within the field of traffic and transportation engineering. This is a great opportunity to meet local professional engineers.

October 24th – Introduction to Career Development – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 101 5:30-6:30 PM

-Representatives from local Flagstaff engineering firms and ASCE’s Phoenix Younger Member Forum will be providing advice on resumes. This will include information on what employers look for in professional resumes, and may help with student-professional networking. Students are required to RSVP with Gina Boschetto, our Career Development Coordinator.

November 7th – Coconino County Public Works – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 101 5:30-6:30 PM

-Representatives from Coconino County’s Public Works Department will present on the key aspects of leadership and innovation that benefit practicing engineers in both the private and public sector. Student members are encouraged to ask questions in order to gain further insight on the topic of the presentation and establish networks for potential job opportunities.

November 21th – Undecided Topic/Presentation – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 101 5:30-6:30 PM

December 5th – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 101 5:45-6:45 PM

-Elections for Officer Positions will be held, and are open to interested members. Attendance is required for a member to run for a positions and to place a vote.

Spring Semester

Date TBD – Undecided Topic/Presentation – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 101 5:30-6:30 PM

April 12th-14th – 2018 PSWC Event – University of California, Irvine

-NAU ASCE will compete with 18 other schools in various competitions including; steel bridge, concrete canoe, geotech, environmental competition, surveying, soccer, tug of war and many more. An estimated 60 NAU students will attend to compete in technical events with other schools in the Pacific Southwest region. More information may be seen on the PSWC page on the side menu.

-Elections for Officer Positions will be held, and are open to interested members. Attendance is required for a member to run for a positions and to place a vote.

Date TBD – End of Year BBQ – ASCE General Meeting – EGR 321 5:30-7:00 PM

-Celebrate the end of the school year by attending the NAU ASCE End of Year BBQ. Foods, games, activities, prizes, and awards will be provided at this meeting.
