Aerospace Studies Classes
To be an Air Force ROTC cadet, a student must be enrolled in all required ROTC classes every semester, which includes:
- Academic classes
- Physical Training classes
- Leadership Lab
If a student requires a fifth year to complete their degree, they will be enrolled in just the Physical Training and Leadership Lab classes their fifth year.
All ROTC classes are taught by one of our Active Duty Air Force faculty.
Aerospace Studies Minor
Any student who meets the requirements below may receive the Aerospace Studies minor.
What Can I Do with a Minor in Aerospace Studies?
If you’re interested in taking classes that expose you to Air Force history, how the Air Force contributes to national security, leadership and management skills, what it means to be a military officer, and communications skills and techniques, the Aerospace Studies minor could be a great addition to your major. You will take courses emphasizing the individual as a manager and a leader, individual motivational and behavioral processes, leadership styles, group dynamics, and ethics. You will also learn effective writing and speaking skills and take courses from other disciplines, including foreign languages, political science, criminal justice, and more. In addition, you will benefit from a number of interesting and knowledgeable guest speakers from both the Air Force and civilian community.
Note: A minor in Aerospace Studies does not obligate you to join the Air Force.
A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor’s degree. To receive a minor (18 to 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.
Please note that you may be able to use some courses to meet more than one requirement. Contact your advisor for details.
