Licensing Agency: Collegiate Licensing Company
Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) is the licensing agent for Northern Arizona University. As such, CLC is responsible for administering the licenses (third party permissions for vendors and manufacturers), including processing of vendor applications, collecting and distributing royalties, and enforcing proper trademark usage.
The CLC consortium consists of nearly 200 universities, bowl games, athletic conferences, the NCAA, and the Heisman Trophy. Based in Atlanta, CLC provides its member institutions the resources and expertise necessary to maximize licensing revenue potential.
Becoming Licensed for Northern Arizona University
There are three types of licensing agreements available to vendors and manufacturers wishing to produce apparel, merchandise or other items bearing NAU trademarks. The following agreements are administered by Collegiate Licensing Company, offering various levels of permission to use NAU indicia:
Internal Campus Supplier
Allows a company to produce product bearing the trademarks of collegiate institutions for university departments and related entities for internal consumption only. Cannot provide product at retail or direct to consumer. The application fee for this type of license is $100 and is non-refundable.
Local License
Allows a company to produce product bearing the trademarks of collegiate institutions within the same state as the business’ location for university departments and related entities in addition to retail distribution. The application fee for this type of licenses is $100 and is non-refundable.
Standard License
Allows a company to produce product bearing the trademarks of unlimited collegiate institutions for university departments and related entities, in addition to retail distribution through all channels. The application fee for this license type is $1,000 and is non-refundable.
