Yá’át’ééh! I am originally from Kayenta, AZ. I have 10+ years of experience supporting Indigenous and underrepresented students across K.12 and higher education. With the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, I oversee the following programs; Hooper Undergraduate Research Award (HURA), Student-led Projects in the Arts, Creative activity, and Scholarship (SPArCS), the Urdea Collaborative Research Award, Jean Shuler Mini-Grants, and Faculty Mentor Professional Learning Grants. My background is in elementary education, federal grant management, and culturally responsive program design, with a strong commitment to equity, accessibility, and student-centered support. I’m a certified K.8 teacher and pursuing a Master’s of Public Health with an Indigenous Health emphasis. My work centers community partnership, student voice, and inclusive pathways into research and academia.
Welcome! I am the Director for the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity. My passion is making connections for students that help them progress in reaching their academic, professional, and personal goals. My background is in economics and early childhood education, but my home is in higher education. My path was not always clear and was definitely not linear. Along the way, I learned that growth often comes through unexpected opportunities, challenges, and changes in direction. Today, I’m passionate about helping students navigate their own journeys, build confidence, and discover the path that’s right for them.
