Welcome to the LGBTQIA Commission
Why Our Work is Important
Who We Are
The LGBTQIA Commission is organized to promote acceptance of LGBTQIA (Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Queer-Intersex-Asexual) diversity, and to foster respect and appreciation for each member of the NAU community, including Extended Campuses students, faculty and staff.
We are bound by the common interest of promoting mutual respect, fairness, equity, and a climate of inclusivity on campus. The Commission is open to all current university employees, students, and select Flagstaff community members who agree with these objectives. All are welcome and invited whether you are part of the LGBTQIA community or want to learn and support.
LGBTQIA Commission meetings will resume in the Spring, starting with a meeting on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
For now, meetings will continue to be held virtually through Zoom. Meetings will run from 12:00 pm to 1:00 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month unless otherwise stated.
There are committee meetings, programs, and events which occur throughout the academic year. To learn more, or to inquire about joining our listserv, please contact us at LGBTQIA.Commission@nau.edu.
