Emergency Management Advisory Group
The mission of NAU Emergency Management Advisory Group (EMAG) is:
…to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and emergencies that occur both on campus and as well as those that occur off campus and may impact the university.
Specifically, the EMAG shall identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities affecting NAU; recommend policy to university leadership; prepare, keep current, and distribute campus emergency response information and plans; coordinate resources before, during, and after an emergency; coordinate emergency management with university departments, and with local, state, and federal agencies with focus on warnings, communication, planning, training, education, and disaster exercising.
EMAG members receive training continually throughout the year in order to provide the command, coordination and control of incident response and emergency operations as may be deemed necessary by the university President and in accordance with FEMA and US Department of Homeland Security.
EMAG’s upcoming meetings at NAU
EMAG meets on the second Wednesday of every even-numbered month, 3:00 pm – 4:30 at the NAU Police Department University Emergency Operations Center (UEOC). Special meetings , trainings, and exercises will be scheduled separately.
