Equity and Access Office
The Equity and Access Office (EAO) ensures NAU’s compliance with federal and state civil rights laws and therefore provides consultation, investigative, and informal resolution services relating to the following:
- Violations of the Nondiscrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy, including complaints of harassment and discrimination based upon sex, race, color, national origin, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, veteran status, or genetic information or retaliation for activity protected by the policy;
- Consensual amorous relationships that impact the work or classroom environment;
- The Nondiscrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy requires that individuals in a position of authority who become aware of a possible violation of this policy report it to EAO for appropriate response. Statement on nondiscrimination and affirmative action
NAU diligently aims to align information across its print and online platforms. This is the university’s official statement on nondiscrimination and affirmative action, and it supersedes any differing statement that might exist in a print or electronic handbook or other location on the website.
Northern Arizona University does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, gender identity and expression, genetic information, or other legally or policy protected status, in the university’s services, educational programs, and activities, including but not limited to, admission to and employment by the university. As a federal contractor, the university is committed to affirmative action in employment for individuals with disabilities and covered veterans.
