Time: 1:30pm – 5:30pm
Location: Science Annex, room 106

NAU High School Math Day is an event hosted by the Department of Mathematics & Statistics each fall. The day is a mixture of friendly competition and mini-seminars presented by our faculty. We hope to provide an enjoyable day for students and teachers with the following goals in mind:
- show that mathematics is fun and interesting
- show students and teachers that mathematics is useful beyond the high school classroom
- encourage students and teachers to pursue further studies in mathematics – perhaps at NAU!
The math day is for Arizona high school students. We can accept only the first 160 students who register. Interested students at any level are welcome. Students do not need to be taking Calculus, but knowledge of Algebra I is assumed.
Since registration is limited to 160 students, each school should plan to bring no more than 20 students. It is also our hope that there would be one adult for every 10 students.
We have modified our schedule so that all of our events take place in the afternoon. Lunch will not be provided, so please plan to eat lunch before arriving for High School Math Day. You may choose to bring sack lunches, eat at a nearby restaurant, or visit the food court in the Student Union near Cline Library.
Bring pencils and paper, but leave calculators at home. Clipboards may be useful.
Please fill out the NAU High School Math Day registration form by Friday, November 6th, 2026. You will be asked to provide the name of your school, the names of all teachers and students attending, t-shirt sizes, and if you need a parking permit for the day of the event. There is no registration fee.
Seating is limited. Register today to secure your school’s spot in the competition!
