Welcome

The Vice Provost for Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation (VP-CAA) works in collaboration with academic leaders to provide leadership, coordination and support for the learning mission of NAU. The Vice Provost serves as the principal investigator for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Frontier Set grant that aims to significantly increase student access and success and eliminate racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in college attainment.

The VP-CAA oversees the Liberal Studies Program, Office of Curriculum and Assessment, Interdisciplinary Writing Program, and the First Year Learning Initiative. The VP-CAA units provide support for the program request process and program life cycle management, curriculum design and curriculum review processes, general education programming, assessment of degree programs and Liberal Studies, Faculty Senate curriculum and assessment committees, academic program review processes, interdisciplinary writing support, transfer articulation, academic compliance, and institutional accreditation. The Vice Provost serves as the liaison to NAU’s accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission.
