Beavers depend on cottonwood and other riparian trees for food (IDEA Lab image)

Research findings by members of the Cottonwood Ecology Group may have tremendous implications for the management and restoration of natural landscapes. For example, understanding how climate change may affect a foundation species like the cottonwood, land managers can select the genetic lines and populations that may best be able to cope with climate change and other related challenges for restoration projects.

Research notes for land managers

The Cottonwood Ecology Group developed Research Notes for Land Managers, a 19-page newsletter, to inform resource managers about their most recent findings and the management implications of these findings.
