Center for Service and Volunteerism
COVID-19 updates
The Center for Service and Volunteerism (CSV) has set up this webpage to provide up-to-date information for our volunteers, partners, and funders through the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of our volunteers and the people we serve is our highest priority. Each of our programs are working with our partner agencies and relying on the guidance issued by NAU, the CDC, state and local government, and health agencies to determine when volunteers will return to service.
If you or someone you serve needs assistance, please let us know. The CSV team is working hard to make sure those connected to our programs are supported. AmeriCorps and VISTA members have volunteered to deliver food or other emergency necessities, and we have gathered an extensive list of resources in the counties we serve. If you need assistance, please call 1-866-856-3017.

AMERICORPS SENIORS Accordion Closed
AmeriCorps Seniors Programs each have different service options depending on location and type of service delivery. See below for details:
- Foster Grandparent Program: Schools throughout Arizona range from being open and allowing Foster Grandparents to serve in person to being completely virtual with no volunteer opportunities. If your service site is open and allows volunteers to serve, you are able to do so as long as you follow the CSV Safe Return to Service guidelines and requirements. For additional resources, including PowerPoint training slides and supplemental information, please visit the Safe Return to Service section on this page. If your service site is closed or not allowing volunteers to serve, you are able to claim Temporary Leave Allowance through January 31, 2021.
- RSVP: RSVP volunteers may return to service as they feel comfortable AND as their partner agencies are open for service. We recommend you contact your service site to find out what safety protocols they have implemented and when you can return to service. When and if you do, you must follow all the protocols set in place by your site as well as those outlined in the CSV Safe Return to Service Plan. We also recommend you wear a mask, wash your hands frequently, and use hand sanitizer in between hand washing. For additional resources, including PowerPoint training slides and supplemental information, please visit the Safe Return to Service section on this page.
- Senior Companion Program: Senior Companions continue to receive the Temporary Leave Allowance through January 31, 2021 for their average pre-COVID weekly service hours. Our team is continuing to work on a plan for phased resumption of service in 2021.
