Spring Into Service Challenge!
CSV invites you to participate in NAU’s very first Spring Into Service Challenge! From April 1st through the 22nd, we invite you to build community and log volunteer hours through Axe of Service. We have dozens of daily volunteer opportunities throughout Flagstaff to choose from!
Volunteers with the most service hours logged during the competition will be recognized at the Spring Volunteer Recognition Event on April 25th. There will be raffle prizes, food, speakers, and more! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to have fun and build skills while spreading kindness in our community and making a lasting impact.

Spring Into Service Kickoff!
Join NAU CSV and Axe of Service for an Earth Day clothing swap full of high fashion and high altitude service! Come by the Flagstaff Fashion Flip at the Aspen Room in the Dubois Center and swap out your old clothing for some hip new drip! For every article you bring, you will receive a ticket to exchange it for something else! Save a trip to the thrift store and shake up your spring wardrobe in a fun and ecofriendly way with others from the NAU and Flagstaff community!

Spring Into Service FAQs
Who can participate? Accordion Closed
Everyone! Students and members of the Flagstaff community are welcome and encouraged to participate. You only need to be 13 years or older to make an Axe of Service account. Children younger than 13 are welcome to join their parents in volunteering!
Why should I join? Accordion Closed
April is National Volunteer Month and a perfect time to celebrate all things volunteer-related. We especially love to engage new volunteers and support our community through service. Whether you are an active volunteer or brand new to service, this is a great opportunity to show Flagstaff how much volunteer love we have to give.
How do I track my volunteer hours? Accordion Closed
Through Axe of Service! Simply make an account, respond to any volunteer needs, and log your hours when you are done. We will approve the hours and track them for you.
How will I know if I am a top volunteer? Accordion Closed
On the Axe of Service homepage, we will be regularly updating a leaderboard of the top three volunteers, so you can see the hours to beat! Once the competition ends, we will honor our top volunteers at the Spring Recognition Event.
When is the Spring Recognition Event? Accordion Closed
April 25th from 2 – 4 pm in the DuBois Center. You can RSVP for the event here.
Can I volunteer with friends? Accordion Closed
Yes! There is an option on Axe of Service to sign up for volunteer needs as a team. Volunteering with friends is always more fun!
Can I count previous volunteer experience towards my hours for the challenge? Accordion Closed
No. Only the volunteer hours logged from 4/1 to 4/22 count toward the challenge.
What if I volunteer with a non-profit that is not on Axe of Service? Accordion Closed
No problem! When logging hours on Axe of Service, there is an option to click “No” to needs responded to on the site. From there, you can enter where you volunteered, for who, and for how long. We will reach out to the contact you provide and get the hours approved for you. These will still count toward your hours for the competition!
