For NAU staff, students, and faculty that are looking for volunteer opportunities in the Flagstaff area, there are local organizations offering opportunities to serve outside of our national service programs.

| Research Assistant - Infectious Disease Prevention | Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health | Fort Defiance | Support community-based public health research focused on infectious disease prevention. | Coordinated Entry Support Specialist | Catholic Charities Community Services | Yavapai County | The member will assist with intake, data entry, and referrals to improve access and reduce barriers to housing resources. | Active Adult and Senior Services Navigator | City of Surprise | Surprise | Represent the Human Service and Community Vitality Department and serve as the contact for members to arrange for transportation via Uber and Lyft to and from the Senior Center, assist with administrative tasks, tabling events and assisting residents seeking information about services offered by the department. | PHA | 2/16/2026 | 16 Weeks |
| Environmental Educator | Camp Colton / The Nature Conservancy | Flagstaff | Serve alongside science educators in support of the design and implementation of student-driven outdoor learning projects in and around Hart Prairie.
