For NAU staff, students, and faculty that are looking for volunteer opportunities in the Flagstaff area, there are local organizations offering opportunities to serve outside of our national service programs.

| Research Assistant - Infectious Disease Prevention | Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health | Fort Defiance | Support community-based public health research focused on infectious disease prevention. | Restoration Program Assistant | Friends of the Verde River | Cottonwood | Support riparian invasive management, erosion reduction, water quality monitoring and wildlife corridor projects. | Program Analyst/Public Outreach Assistant | Friends of the Verde River | Cottonwood | Conduct programmatic analysis on youth education, community science, habitat restoration, and water conservation.
