Arizona Teacher Residency
The focus of AZTR is to provide graduate education, hands-on classroom experience, and continuing professional development to aspiring teachers—along with multiple financial incentives to make achieving your goals more manageable.
Aspiring teachers enter a two-year graduate program that includes a classroom apprenticeship under the guidance of a Supervising Teacher. Upon completion, residents earn their master’s degree and work as the teacher-of-record at a partnering district for at least two additional years. All without going into debt.
What Are The Benefits?
As an AZTR AmeriCorps member you will receive:
- A master’s degree from NAU. You may be eligible to have your tuition covered by the Arizona Teachers Academy.
