Reunion

Our current exhibition, Reunion, is a metaphorical gathering of old friends and a celebration of life, featuring artworks from the Aaron M. Macy Memorial collection and the NAU Art Museum’s permanent collection. Reunion offers a glimpse at a group of artists, their connections to each other, and Northern Arizona University, as seen through examples of their work.

The NAU College of Arts and Letters recently received a gift of artworks from Doug Macy, in loving memory of his late son Aaron M Macy. Due, perhaps, to Doug’s close ties to the NAU fine art community, many of the artists represented in the Macy gift are also represented in the NAU Art Museum’s permanent collection. We’ve taken this opportunity to present a mingling of the two collections and bring together works, in ceramic, by a  small group of artists whose lives and work have each other, the Macy family, as well as the NAU Northern Arizona community. We are delighted to share this gathering of friends, old and new.

Featured artists include

  • Dr. Don Bendel, Professor Emeritus Ceramics, Northern Arizona University
  • Jason William Hess, Professor, School of Art, Northern Arizona University
  • Paula Rice, Professor Emeritus Ceramics, Northern Arizona University
  • Steven R Schaeffer, Associate Professor, School of Art, Northern Arizona University

Check back for additional information as this exhibition continues throughout the spring and into the summer of 2021.
