Physical Training
PT AT 7000 FT.
Physical fitness is a must for any soldier in the Army or the Army ROTC. The NAU Army ROTC offers Physical Training (PT) classes for credit for MS I cadets, MS II cadets, and civilian students who wish to join us and improve their fitness level. MS I & II cadets are required to take the PT courses (see: Classes).
PT is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 0600-0730 at the NAU Walkup Skydome.
Our PT sessions are designed and led by MS III cadets and are focused to improve each individual’s performance on the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) and overall physical fitness.
The APFT consists of three events:
- Push-ups: 2 minutes of performing push-ups for a maximum number of repetitions.
- Sit-ups: 2 minutes of performing situps for a maximum number of repetitions.
- Two Mile Run: Run two miles for time
APFT Standards can be found here.
