Physical Training
PT AT 7000 FT.
Physical fitness is a must for any soldier in the Army or the Army ROTC. The NAU Army ROTC offers Physical Training (PT) classes for credit for MS I cadets, MS II cadets, and civilian students who wish to join us and improve their fitness level. MS I & II cadets are required to take the PT courses (see: Classes).
PT is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 0600-0730 at the NAU Walkup Skydome.
Our PT sessions are designed and led by MS III cadets and are focused to improve each individual’s performance on the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) and overall physical fitness.
The ACFT consists of six events:
- 3 REPETITION MAXIMUM DEADLIFT (MDL)
- STANDING POWER THROW (SPT)
- HAND RELEASE PUSH-UP – ARM EXTENSION (HRP)
- SPRINT-DRAG-CARRY (SDC)
- PLANK (PLK)
- TWO-MILE RUN (2MR)
ACFT Standards can be found here.
