Commander’s letter
Greetings,
Hello, I’m LTC James Battle, the Professor of Military Science at Northern Arizona University and Embry Riddle University – Prescott. On behalf of my Cadre and staff thank you for your interest in the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC). Our program offers extensive leadership training and practical hands on tactical exercises and scenarios in order to prepare you for a career in the United States Army, Army Reserve or National Guard. Most importantly, we mentor and develop Cadets into successful and competent junior officers as they earn their commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army.
Did you know the United Stated Army funded $365 million of scholarship aide to 15000 students? There are options for 2, 3, and 4-year scholarships that will pay for: tuition and fees or room and board, provide $1200 a year for books, and a $420 monthly stipend. If you are interested in the Army paying for your higher education, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I can’t think of another program that pays for college, is not a student loan, and provides immediate employment. Don’t let this opportunity pass.
We are invested in the success of our Cadets and future officers of the United States Army. The Lumberjack Battalion is the number one program in 5th ROTC Brigade (NAU Army ROTC program ranked first in region, top eight nationally) Our cadets graduate faster than the national average (4.08 years versus 5.38) and our GPA’s are higher as well (3.34 vs. 3.15 national average). Thank you again for your interest and I look forward to meeting you. Feel free to call me at 928-523-8667 if you have any questions.
James A. Battle
