For statewide and online students

New student Orientation is a crucial step in starting or continuing your education at Northern Arizona University. Students attending NAU at one of our statewide locations are a valuable part of the Lumberjack family, and Orientation is a great way to connect with valuable resources and support that will help your transition.

Registering for orientation

There are in-person, virtual, and fully online Orientation options for new NAU students attending at a statewide campus. Choose your preference and register below:

This Orientation is open to students taking classes online or at a statewide location (excluding Yuma).

We’re excited to welcome you and invite you to attend a New Student Orientation (NSO) Open House Session. These in-person sessions are designed to support new undergraduate students as they begin their academic journey at NAU-Yuma. During the Open House Session, you’ll gain access to essential student resources, build meaningful connections, and set yourself up for a strong start.

What to expect at the NSO Open House Session:

Student Services Resource Fair Discover the wide range of campus services available to support your academic, personal, and professional growth—from advising, financial aid, wellness resources, and career development.

Meet & Greet with NAU Yuma Staff and Peer Support Start building connections with staff and student leaders from NAU-Yuma. These relationships are key to your continued success throughout your time at NAU.

Enrollment & Student Services Support Get personalized guidance on enrollment, financial aid, student accounts, and navigating student services—all in one place.

Campus Resource Connections Learn about the tools and support systems available to help you thrive, including tutoring, mentoring, writing services, research opportunities, campus events, and student organizations.

Community & Giveaways Engage with fellow students and staff in a welcoming environment—and enjoy fun giveaways as part of the celebration!

Walk-In Support Available: The Yuma Student Service Center (AC Building, Office #124) will offer walk-in hours on Friday, January 16, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for additional assistance and questions.

We strongly encourage all new undergraduate students to attend at least one orientation session to ensure a smooth transition to university life.

· Tuesday, January 13: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM or 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

· Wednesday, January 14: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM

· Thursday, January 15: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Veteran students and active duty

Orientation information

Student veterans and active duty are welcome to attend an online or statewide Orientation session, but should also attend NAU military-connected student Orientation.
