  • How to request a policy exception

Requesting policy exceptions

  • Review the information outlining the policy exceptions handled by the ASC.  If the policy in question is not adjudicated through another channel, e-mail AcademicStandards@nau.edu, and state the policy for which you are requesting an exception.
  • Briefly explain any extenuating circumstances prohibiting your ability to adhere to university policy.  You need to attach official documentation.
  • Deadlines for submission:
    • The ASC meets once a month, and evaluates requests for exceptions based upon the written record provided.
    • Exception requests and supporting documentation must be submitted no later than 5:00 P.M. on the dates below for consideration in the next listed meeting:
      • September 20, 2019
      • October 18, 2019
      • January 24, 2020
      • February 7, 2020
      • February 21, 2020
      • March 20, 2020
  • Students are notified of the ASC’s decision via e-mail approximately twelve (12) business days after the submission deadline.
