She received this award due to her high grades and academic achievements. She\u2019s currently in her 2nd semester at NAU-Yuma and is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Social Work. When she was given the award, she felt \u201creally good, overwhelmed, and kind of shocked.\u201d It\u2019s a great award to have as a college student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/yuma\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/378\/2019\/11\/Angelina.jpg\" alt=\"Angelina Sosa\" class=\"wp-image-6386\" width=\"243\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/378\/2019\/11\/Angelina.jpg 446w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/378\/2019\/11\/Angelina-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 243px) 100vw, 243px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout her life, Angelina has been dealing with Cerebral Palsy which requires her to use a wheelchair to get where she needs to go. However, that hasn\u2019t stopped her from getting her education and being an example for others during the process. That\u2019s what the award means to her. Her accomplishment is a way to honor her parents. She stated that her parents \u201cmotivated me to do more no matter what.\u201d Furthermore, she was always brought up to believe in herself, because her parents and teachers instilled that in her, all her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nonetheless, Angela enjoys being at the NAU\u2013Yuma campus because she feels like she can be herself here. She likes being around people and motivating others by being a positive inspiration to them. Also, she stated that the people at NAU\u2013Yuma treat her with great respect. Nevertheless, she likes to entertain, make others happy, draw &amp; paint, and work with ceramics. She has been involved with art for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, a message that Angelina has for people is: \u201cDon\u2019t let others dictate your life.\u201d Throughout her life, she has had to deal with criticisms. However, she doesn\u2019t listen to what others have to say. She likes to focus on optimism and motivation to continue her goals. One of those goals is to be a role model and spread positivity to other people at NAU\u2013Yuma. She\u2019s proud to be a NAU-Yuma student and we\u2019re proud to have her here as part of our Lumberjack family.
