{"id":46,"date":"2018-01-24T16:48:30","date_gmt":"2018-01-24T16:48:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/training.wp.nau.edu\/amanda-sandbox\/?page_id=46"},"modified":"2026-02-18T16:28:42","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T16:28:42","slug":"faculty-and-staff-reporting-resources","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/title-ix\/faculty-and-staff-reporting-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty and Staff Reporting Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Reporting process and resources<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Employees, students, or community members may consult with the <\/strong><strong>Office for the Resolution of Sexual Misconduct:\u00a0 Title IX Institutional Compliance, Prevention\u00a0 &amp; Response (ORSM) at <a href=\"mailto:TitleIX@nau.edu\">TitleIX@nau.edu <\/a>or <a href=\"tel:928-523-5434\">928-523-5434<\/a> <\/strong><strong>concerning any reports of possible sexual misconduct issues.\u00a0 Faculty and staff employees must report all disclosures using the <a href=\"http:\/\/nau.edu\/ReportIt\">Sexual Misconduct Incident Report<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are approached by a student, faculty or staff employee, affiliate, or other person who believes that sexual harassment, assault, or violence has occurred, you should provide the person with the following information:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Refer students or employees to the appropriate <a title=\"resources\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/title-ix\/resources\/\">resources<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Explain that you cannot guarantee confidentiality due to the University\u2019s concern for campus safety and that you will respect their privacy and only pass on information on a need-to-know basis. <strong>Employees are required to report any reports that might relate to a Title IX issue using the <a href=\"http:\/\/nau.edu\/ReportIt\">Sexual Misconduct Incident Report<\/a> and may consult with the Office for the Resolution of Sexual Misconduct:\u00a0 Title IX Institutional Compliance, Prevention\u00a0 &amp; Response (ORSM) <\/strong><strong>at <a href=\"mailto:TitleIX@nau.edu\">TitleIX@nau.edu<\/a><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Explain that retaliation or retribution of ANY kind taken against an individual as a result of that person filing a complaint, requesting information, cooperating in an investigation, or otherwise participating in these reporting procedures is strictly prohibited.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Explain that the impacted party may:\n<ul type=\"circle\">\n<li>Speak with confidential resources, such as Counseling Services for students at <a href=\"tel:928-523-2131\">928-523-2131 <\/a>or Employee Assistance and Wellness for faculty or staff employees at <a href=\"tel:928-523-1552\">928-523-1552<\/a>.\u00a0 These offices may explain options in a confidential manner. The students or employees can use these services even if they do not wish to file a formal complaint.<\/li>\n<li>File a criminal complaint.\u00a0 Impacted parties may pursue criminal charges by contacting NAUPD at <a href=\"tel:911\">911<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Contact Northern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (NACASA) at <a href=\"tel:928-213-6112\">928-213-6112<\/a> to schedule a forensic exam (rape kit) or Victim Witness Services at <a href=\"tel:928-856-7676\">928-856-7676<\/a> to better understand criminal and university administrative options.<\/li>\n<li>File a formal complaint under the <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/Sexual-Misconduct.pdf\">Sexual Misconduct Policy<\/a>.\u00a0 Impacted parties may pursue administrative complaints alone or in conjunction with a criminal complaint through the <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/Sexual-Misconduct.pdf\">Sexual Misconduct Policy <\/a>by submitting it to <strong><a href=\"mailto:TitleIX@nau.edu\">TitleIX@nau.edu<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>As part of the Title IX Coordinator&#8217;s responsibility for NAU&#8217;s overall compliance program, the Title IX Coordinator&#8217;s <strong>Office for the Resolution of Sexual Misconduct:\u00a0 Title IX Institutional Compliance, Prevention\u00a0 &amp; Response (ORSM) <\/strong>partners with various offices to offer supportive measures and collaborates campus-wide to implement these services, such as removing affected students from a shared class, providing mutual no-contact orders, or assistance in relocation within the residence halls, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Follow reporting requirements outlined in the Sexual Misconduct Policy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<!-- shortcode-right-column -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-right-column\" >\n    <div class=\"shortcode-right-column__container\"><\/p>\n<p><!-- shortcode-contact -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-contact\">\n    <div class=\"contact-header\">\n        <h3>Contact the Title IX Coordinator<\/h3>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"contact-body\">\n                <a href=\"mailto:TitleIX@nau.edu\" aria-label=\"Contact the Title IX Coordinator: Email Address\" title=\"Email Address\">\n            <div class=\"contact-icon-container\">\n                <i class=\"fas fa-envelope\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>\n                <span class=\"sr-only\">Email:<\/span>\n            <\/div>\n            <div class=\"contact-email\">TitleIX&#8203;@nau.edu<\/div>\n        <\/a>\n                        <a href=\"tel:928-523-5434\" aria-label=\"Contact the Title IX Coordinator: Telephone Number\" title=\"Telephone Number\">\n            <div class=\"contact-icon-container\">\n                <i class=\"fas fa-phone\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>\n                <span class=\"sr-only\">Call:<\/span>\n            <\/div>\n            <div class=\"contact-phone\">928-523-5434<\/div>\n        <\/a>\n            <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reporting process and resources Employees, students, or community members may consult with the Office for the Resolution of Sexual Misconduct:\u00a0 Title IX Institutional Compliance, Prevention\u00a0 &amp; Response (ORSM) at TitleIX@nau.edu or 928-523-5434 concerning any reports of possible sexual misconduct issues.\u00a0 Faculty and staff employees must report all disclosures using the Sexual Misconduct Incident Report.
