Often, the reporting officer will then have dispatch contact a victim\/witness advocate who will help the&nbsp;individual understand their options including a forensic exam or &ldquo;rape kit&rdquo; with NACASA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- shortcode-accordion -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-accordion shortcode-accordion--closed\" style=\"position: relative;\" >\n        <a class=\"shortcode-accordion__trigger\" data-header=\"Confidential reporting_0\" href=\"#\">\n      <div class=\"shortcode-accordion__header\">\n          <h4>Confidential reporting <span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Accordion Closed<\/span><\/h4>\n          <span class=\"shortcode-accordion__header__arrow\"><\/span>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/a>\n    <div class=\"shortcode-accordion__body\">\n        <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body>\n<p>If an individual talks to a counselor at Employee Assistance and Wellness, <a href=\"tel:%20928-523-1552\">928-523-1552<\/a> (employees) or <a title=\"Counseling Services\" href=\"http:\/\/nau.edu\/counseling\">Counseling Services<\/a>, <a href=\"tel:928-523-2131\">928-523-2131<\/a> (students), the information given will remain confidential in accordance with the law. &nbsp;The counseling relationship provides a safe space for impacted parties to talk about their situation and the resources available to them.<\/p>\n<h5>Anonymous reporting<\/h5>\n<p>In an anonymous report, no names are required. No information is included that might identify the individual; an individual&nbsp;can choose how much information is shared.<\/p>\n<p>Students may use the <a title=\"Online Incident Report Form\" href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?NorthernAZUniv&amp;layout_id=52\">Online Incident Report Form<\/a> to make an anonymous report.<\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"Northern Arizona University Police Department (NAUPD) Anonymous Report&nbsp;Form\" href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/police\/safety\/anonymous-report\/\">Northern Arizona University Police Department (NAUPD) Anonymous Report Form<\/a> also can be used to make an anonymous report of sexual assault or other gender violence.<\/p>\n<p>If a member of the NAU community is in danger, NAUPD or the <a href=\"http:\/\/nau.edu\/titleix\">Office for the Resolution of Sexual Misconduct:&nbsp; Title IX Institutional Compliance, Prevention &amp; Response (ORSM)<\/a> will notify the necessary departments with the information. Otherwise, the anonymous report is used to track possible patterns or areas that could pose a danger to the campus community.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to consult with a confidential resource before completing the form please contact Employee Assistance and Wellness, <a href=\"tel:%20928-523-1552\">928-523-1552<\/a> (employees) or <a title=\"Counseling Services\" href=\"http:\/\/nau.edu\/counseling\">Counseling Services<\/a>, <a href=\"tel:928-523-2131\">928-523-2131<\/a> (students).<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Information regarding support services that may be called<\/h2>\n<h3>Victim Witness Advocate involvement<\/h3>\n<p>If desired, a Victim Witness Advocate can provide support to the survivor throughout the process. \u00a0The survivor will meet with an advocate to discuss their options and what to expect. Victim Witness Services can be reached at <a href=\"tel:9288567676\">928-856-7676<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Forensic exam<\/h3>\n<p>A forensic exam can be done up to 120 hours (around five days) after an incident and a police report is NOT necessary to obtain an exam. An exam is voluntary and can take up to six hours, and a victim may take a friend along for additional support. \u00a0A Forensic Nurse Examiner will ask questions about the incident and conduct a head-to-toe exam and detailed genital exam.
