Transferred Employee Arizona Domicile Affidavit
The Transferred Employee Arizona Domicile Affidavit is for students or spouses of students whose employer has transferred them to a location in Arizona.
The student must meet these requirements as defined by the Arizona Board of Regents to be considered an Arizona resident for tuition purposes. Those requirements are:
Student (or their spouse) is employed by an employer which transferred them to Arizona for employment purposes
- “Transferred” means the individual was reassigned by their employer to a location in Arizona fewer than 12 months prior to the applicable last day of registration, is not self-employed or employed in a family-owned business not previously operating in Arizona and can provide proof of payment or reimbursement of moving expenses by the employer.
This exception requires these exact specifications to be met. If you are not sure if you meet these criteria, you can explore other pathways to residency listed on our website or using the residency navigator. Please contact the residency office with questions.
