As part of his research in NAU\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/astronomy-and-planetary-science\/phd-astronomy-planetary-science\/\">Astronomy and Planetary Science PhD program<\/a>, Chandler led a study on activity of the distant planetary object Centaur 2014 OG392\u2014a discovery that resulted in the reclassification of the Centaur as a comet.
