Regional Community Health Survey Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Regional Community Health Survey Report<\/h1>\n<p>The 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/sherc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/392\/RHES_county-report_FINAL.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regional Community Health Survey Report<\/a>\u00a0is a report developed from a survey of 200 Arizona county-level leaders from various sectors who shared their knowledge, attitudes and actions on community health with researchers from the Southwest Health Engagement and Research Collaborative (SHERC) Community Engagement Core (CEC).<\/p>\n<p>Leaders answered in-depth survey questions that addressed the social, environmental, and economic conditions that impact the health and wellbeing of the communities they serve.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/sherc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/392\/RHES_county-report_FINAL.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4889 size-uncropped-large\" src=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/sherc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/392\/RHES_county-report_600-px-464x600.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"464\" height=\"600\" 232w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/392\/RHES_county-report_600-px.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 464px) 100vw, 464px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Composed of 48 questions, the RHES covers topics related to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Distribution of resources in the communities served<\/li>\n<li>Personal understanding of social determinants of health organizational capacity to address health inequities<\/li>\n<li>Extent and focus of cross-sectoral partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Use of data in decision making<\/li>\n<li>The role of research in addressing health inequalities in the community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The leaders who answered the survey recommended the following strategies to advance equity in northern Arizona:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build community knowledge and capacity<\/li>\n<li>Develop economic, workforce and infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Activate collaboration and partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Establish referral and resource systems<\/li>\n<li>Provide direct services<\/li>\n<li>Ensure flexible, fair and equitable access to health and health services<\/li>\n<li>Conduct community outreach and engagement<\/li>\n<li>Engage in advocacy and policy change<\/li>\n<li>Be culturally and community responsive<\/li>\n<li>Utilize evidence-based practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The RHES has three primary community-university benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish a baseline of regional organizational capacity to advance health equity<\/li>\n<li>Produce local reports to support strategic planning<\/li>\n<li>Inform and align NAU research, evaluation, training and policy efforts with community-identified equity issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<!-- shortcode-right-column -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-right-column\" >\n    <div
