It is recognized nationally for high performance standards of outstanding musical literature.<\/p>\n<p>The ensemble&#8217;s selects a diverse and contemporary repertoire to challenge students and bring out their highest level of performance. This ensemble has commissioned and premiered many pieces by composers of international fame.<\/p>\n<p>The Wind Symphony has:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>performed at the national and regional conferences of the College Band Directors National Association<\/li>\n<li>performed at the Arizona Music Educators Conference<\/li>\n<li>frequently recorded CDs for Carl Fischer Music of New York and Daehn Publications<br \/>\ntoured Europe in May 2007<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Join<\/h2>\n<p>Membership in the Wind Symphony requires a <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/school-music\/bands\/auditions\/\">concert ensemble audition<\/a>, which takes place before the beginning of each semester. These will be blind auditions (behind a screen).<\/p>\n<h3>Enrollment<\/h3>\n<p>If you are accepted you will need to enroll in one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Freshman: MUP 170, Section 04<\/li>\n<li>Sophomore: MUP 270, Section 04<\/li>\n<li>Junior: MUP 370, Section 04<\/li>\n<li>Senior: MUP 470, Section 04<\/li>\n<li>Graduate: MUP 670, Section 04<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Schedule<\/h2>\n<h3>Rehearsals<\/h3>\n<p>The Wind Symphony meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in room 146 of the\u00a0Performing and Fine Arts building\u00a0(number 37a).<\/p>\n<h3>Performances<\/h3>\n<p>The Wind Symphony also presents several\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/school-music\/programs-events\/events-calendar\/\">concerts<\/a>\u00a0each season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wind Symphony The Wind Symphony is Northern Arizona University&#8217;s premiere wind ensemble.
