Former members of the Lumberjack Marching Band, NAU Faculty\/Staff, and NAU Alumni musicians (that might not have played in band at NAU while a student) are encouraged to come connect\/reconnect, make music, and celebrate Homecoming together.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you played your instrument last year or last century, we&#8217;d love to welcome you back to Flagstaff!<\/p>\n<p>This year, we&#8217;re creating a more intentional Alumni Band experience with opportunities to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reconnect with former bandmates<\/li>\n<li>Meet current Lumberjack Marching Band students<\/li>\n<li>Perform with the band during Homecoming<\/li>\n<li>Participate in a roaming Alumni Pep Band<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy Homecoming weekend together<\/li>\n<li>Help strengthen a growing Alumni Band tradition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You do <strong>not<\/strong> need to perform to participate. If you&#8217;re looking for the band experience, the friendships, and the memories, there&#8217;s a place for you.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>Schedule of Events<\/h1>\n<pre>All events are OPTIONAL unless specifically noted.<\/pre>\n<h2>Friday, October 16<\/h2>\n<h3>4:00 PM \u2013 6:00 PM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Attend Lumberjack Marching Band Rehearsal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Join us on the practice field and reconnect with the current band. Alumni are welcome to observe, participate in sectionals, and connect with students.<\/p>\n<h3>7:00 PM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alumni Meet-Up at Bun Huggers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good food, good company, and the opportunity to catch up with fellow Lumberjacks. <em>We have called-ahead to let them know a big group is coming!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Saturday, October 17 &#8211; Homecoming<\/h2>\n<h3>8:00 AM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alumni Check-In<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>8:30 AM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alumni Band Rehearsal*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Play alongside current members of the Lumberjack Marching Band and prepare for halftime.<\/p>\n<p>*Required if performing at Halftime.<\/p>\n<h3>12:00 PM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alumni Pep Band at Tailgates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Join a small roaming pep band performing fight songs, Louie Louie, and other favorites around the Homecoming tailgate area.<\/p>\n<h3>4:00 PM<\/h3>\n<h3>Game Time<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Sit With The Band<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although the game is general admission, an area adjacent to the Lumberjack Marching Band will be reserved for Alumni Band members and their families!<\/p>\n<h3>Halftime<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Perform With The Lumberjack Marching Band*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alumni performers will join the band on the field for a special halftime performance.<\/p>\n<p>No marching required; the alumni will watch halftime from the sidelines, then join for the final song standing still.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>*Attendance at the 8:30 AM rehearsal is required.<\/p>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Kappa Kappa Psi &amp; Tau Beta Sigma<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>Sunday, October 18<\/h2>\n<h3>9:00 AM \u2013 11:00 AM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alumni Brunch<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open to alumni, life, and honorary members of Kappa Kappa Psi or Tau Beta Sigma.<\/p>\n<p>RSVP via the Alumni Band Qualtrics Form and ensure you click that you are affiliated with Kappa Kappa Psi or Tau Beta Sigma when prompted. Later in the survey, you will have a special question asking you to RSVP for the Sunday event. More information coming soon!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>Frequently Asked Questions<\/h1>\n<h3>Do I have to perform?<\/h3>\n<p>No. Some alumni come back to play. Others come back to reconnect. Both are equally welcome.<\/p>\n<h3>I haven&#8217;t touched my instrument in years. Can I still participate?<\/h3>\n<p>Absolutely. The goal is participation, community, and fun. We want you here.<\/p>\n<h3>Can I bring family?<\/h3>\n<p>Yes. Additional family tickets can be purchased through the Athletics ticket portal.<\/p>\n<h3>What should I wear?<\/h3>\n<p>Participants are encouraged to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Purchase a 2026 Alumni Band shirt<\/li>\n<li>Wear the Lumberjack Marching Band shirt provided to 2025 participants<\/li>\n<li>Wear a plain navy shirt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Will music be provided?<\/h3>\n<p>Yes. Digital PDF music will be distributed in advance. Participants are responsible for printing their own copies if desired.<\/p>\n<h3>Can I borrow an instrument?<\/h3>\n<p>Potentially. Instrument requests can be made through the registration form and will be accommodated based on availability.<\/p>\n<h3>I&#8217;m not an LMB alumni, but I have a connection to the band. Can I participate?<\/h3>\n<p>Probably!\u00a0We are welcoming of friends of the NAU Bands community.
