{"id":1639,"date":"2018-05-18T20:15:47","date_gmt":"2018-05-18T20:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nau.edu\/forestry\/?page_id=1639"},"modified":"2026-01-26T20:33:42","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T20:33:42","slug":"bachelors-to-masters-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/school-forestry\/degrees-and-programs\/bachelors-to-masters-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Bachelor&#8217;s to Master&#8217;s Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Bachelor&#8217;s to master&#8217;s program<\/h1>\n<h2>Get a bachelor&#8217;s and a master&#8217;s in Forestry in five years at NAU<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re an outstanding and highly motivated student, our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/graduate-college\/accelerated-programs\/\">Accelerated BSF to MF program<\/a> can help you earn both degrees in forestry in five years\u2014providing you with advanced training for a career in forest management while saving you time and money.<\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>You are eligible to enter the BSF to MF program if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you are enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Forestry program<\/li>\n<li>your overall NAU undergraduate cumulative GPA is 3.25 or greater<\/li>\n<li>a GPA of 3.5 or higher for classes in the following FOR courses: FOR 211, FOR 213, FOR 215, FOR 218, FOR 220, FOR 225, FOR 313, FOR 315, FOR 320, and FOR 321 or a substitute course(s) for these courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Program of study<\/h3>\n<p>You will use six hours of 400-level courses from the bachelor\u2019s degree program to meet part of the elective requirement of the Master of Forestry. You will complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of coursework:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>three credit hours for a professional paper you will design with guidance from your major professor<\/li>\n<li>nine hours of required courses<\/li>\n<li>8-9 hours of core courses in Forestry<\/li>\n<li>15-16 hours of elective courses tailored to your personal interests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Apply<\/h3>\n<p>Applications should be submitted in the spring semester of your junior undergraduate year and have talked with a forestry faculty that will advise the applicant.
