Most research projects focus on\u00a0applying knowledge to shape natural resource management and socio-economic policies in ways that will improve ecological and social well-being.\u00a0Graduate students can conduct research in this theme through the Master\u2019s in Environmental Science &amp; Policy or the\u00a0Environment &amp; Society emphasis area\u00a0of the PhD in Earth Sciences &amp; Environmental Sustainability. These programs provide opportunities\u00a0for\u00a0training in social science and interdisciplinary research, collaboration with government and non-governmental organizations, and the application of\u00a0research\u00a0findings to guide decision-making.
