NATAS is an association dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry.<\/p>\n

Student’s permanent address resides in the regional area that is represented by the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS)<\/li>\n
The scholarship may be renewed if the selected student reapplies and maintains a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 where 4.0 = A. If the recipient is unable to continue their studies or becomes disqualified for failing to meet the scholarship requirements any unpaid NATAS scholarship money will not be distributed to that awardee, and shall be held in the NAU Foundation account to be awarded the following year to a qualified student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

This annual scholarship is provided by former students and graduates of the School of Communication and is awarded for either one or two semesters for a total of $500 to a student who<\/p>\n

is majoring in any program in the School of Communication, although preference will be given to students majoring in Journalism or Strategic Communication with an emphasis in either Advertising or Public Relations if all other criteria are equal,<\/li>\n
is meritorious and shows promise of being a distinguished contributor to his\/her discipline,<\/li>\n
has completed 60 credit hours by the time the award is made and<\/li>\n
has at least a 3.0 overall GPA.<\/li>\n
Consideration will be given to applicants who are making positive contributions to the School of Communication through involvement in School of Communication co-curricular activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Scripps Journalism Recruiting Scholarships <\/strong>are for incoming high school or community college students who intend to enroll at NAU in the Journalism program in the fall semester. Awards are based upon the applicants’ potential as student news media journalists. Scholarship recipients must work on The Lumberjack<\/em> newspaper,NAZ Today TV news department, or KJACK Radio news, unless other provisions are approved by the Journalism faculty and scholarship committee. Renewal of the scholarship for the spring semester is contingent upon satisfactory performance in the classroom and the applicable student media news operation during the fall semester. (Initial deadline is January 31st., although applications will continue to be accepted until all scholarships are awarded, but no later than May 31st.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
