{"id":1318,"date":"2023-12-12T21:24:04","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T21:24:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/?p=1318"},"modified":"2023-12-15T17:15:37","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T17:15:37","slug":"november-2023-travel-optimization-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/2023\/12\/12\/november-2023-travel-optimization-update\/","title":{"rendered":"November 2023 Travel Optimization Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With November closed, and the semester and calendar year wrapping up, fall 2023 has been a record-breaking travel season with over 860 more travel cases opened from this time last year!<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Reimbursement Processing Support department will be closed for Winter Break from Monday, December 25<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 January 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are currently two staff vacancies:<br \/>\n<u>Vacancies:<br \/>\n<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel Specialists (1)<u><br \/>\n<\/u><\/li>\n<li>Assistant Manager, Academic Team: (1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please review the following updates and reminders:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/nau-travel-training\/\"><strong>Travel Training<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a reminder <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/nau-travel-training\/\"><em>Travel Policy<\/em> training<\/a> needs to be completed each fiscal year. Over 280 individuals have completed all modules to date.<\/li>\n<li>The training calendar for in-person <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/nau-travel-training\/\"><em>Travel Booking<\/em><\/a> training is available on the website through May 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/travel-optimization\/\"><strong>Travel Resources<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a new! <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/home\/travel-faq\/\">Travel FAQ<\/a> resource on the <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/\">Reimbursement Processing Support (RPSU) webpage<\/a>. The site provides answers to\/for your most frequently asked questions, and we hope it is a resource you will share with all NAU travelers. If there is a frequently asked question that we missed, please let us know by emailing <a href=\"mailto:Kate.Florman@nau.edu\">Kate.Florman@nau.edu<\/a>. We want this to be a dynamic resource that meets <em>your <\/em>needs \u2013 any and all feedback is welcome!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The next Travel Liaison meeting with be Wednesday, January 17<sup>th<\/sup> from 1:30-3:00 PM.<br \/>\nPlease add yourself to the <em>new<\/em>! <a href=\"email:NAU-TRAVEL@lists.nau.edu\">Travel Liaison listserv:<\/a> be added to the meeting invite. Instructions on how to add yourself to the listserv can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/its\/listservcommands\/\">ITS website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/rpsu\/travel-optimization-metrics\/\"><strong>Metrics<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel cases without prior approval and opened post-travel (17%) of all submitted cases, down from last month by (.5%), continue to impact reimbursement processing times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Coming Soon<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Longitudinal travel case metrics will be available on the website. (December 2023)<\/li>\n<li>How-To Video Clips providing step-by-step guided instructions on completing various travel related processes.
