{"id":26,"date":"2018-06-21T03:16:46","date_gmt":"2018-06-21T10:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vendor.hub.wp.nau.edu\/risk-management\/damage-theft-reporting\/"},"modified":"2025-10-24T02:16:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T02:16:11","slug":"damage-theft-reporting","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/risk-management\/damage-theft-reporting\/","title":{"rendered":"Damage\/Theft Reporting Procedures for University-Owned Property"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Damage\/Theft Reporting Procedures for University-Owned Property<\/h1>\n<h2><strong>Criminal\/Vandalism damage or theft of University-owned property<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h4>On-campus loss<\/h4>\n<p>Report the following incidents to University Police Dispatch, <a href=\"tel:9285233611\">(928) 523-3611<\/a>, immediately upon discovery:\u00a0 all criminal damage\/vandalism to University property or theft of University property that occurs on the NAU campus.\u00a0 The reporting officer will file a police report on the incident.\u00a0 Contact Risk Management at <a href=\"tel:9285234557\">(928) 523-4557<\/a>, with the police report number.\u00a0\u00a0Risk Management will request a copy of the report from University Police.<\/p>\n<h4>Off-campus loss<\/h4>\n<p>Report the following to the local law enforcement agency immediately upon discovery: all criminal damage\/vandalism to University property or theft of University property that occurs off-campus.\u00a0 Contact Risk Management\u00a0at <a href=\"tel:9285234557\">(928) 523-4557<\/a>, with the police report number.\u00a0\u00a0Risk Management\u00a0will contact University Police to request a copy of the police report.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Non-criminal damage to University-owned property<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This involves all\u00a0<strong>non-criminal<\/strong> type damage such as water damage due to frozen pipes, flooding, or heavy rains; glass breakage due to high winds; equipment damage due to lightning strikes, etc.\u00a0 All damage caused by non-criminal type activity should be reported on the online\u00a0<a title=\"Damage Report\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/risk-management\/damage-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Damage Report<\/a>. \u00a0The Damage Report, located on the Risk Management website, is not a police report and once submitted will go directly to the <a title=\"nau-propliability@nau.edu\" href=\"mailto:nau-propliability@nau.edu\">nau-propliability@nau.edu<\/a> e-mail for processing as a potential insurance claim.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on Damage\/Theft Reporting Procedures, contact Risk Management department at <a href=\"tel:9285234557\">(928) 523-4557<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--script class=\"ektron-script\"&gt;
