Groups of five or less are optimal for one on one support during training. Annex staff may consult with others to help training in their areas of expertise. All personnel must have completed and passed the IACUC quiz and turned in an <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/research\/institutional-animal-care-and-use-committee-iacuc\/occupational-health-form\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"4615\">occupational health assessment form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Level I training is intended to teach basic techniques that will increase users comfort level when working with animals.&nbsp; It will also increase knowledge of rules and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Security Training<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 This is required for anyone entering the Biological Sciences Annex (BSA) regularly as part of work or research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Level I<\/strong><br>This training will cover general rules and policies, animal handling, humane animal restraint (scuffing, palmar holding, etc.) and husbandry<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I \u2013 General facility rules \/ IACUC policy<\/li><li>I a \u2013 Mouse<\/li><li>I b \u2013 Rat<\/li><li>I c \u2013 Frog<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Level II and III training is intended for individuals that have completed level I trainings. These trainings will give individuals more specific experience on the project they plan to work on. All level II and III trainings will require multiple dates for training.
