All IRB forms must be obtained from the IRBNet Forms and Templates library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All human research receive IRB review and approval at intervals appropriate to the degree of risk. Projects that are deemed Minimal Risk need to submit a project status update to renew project approval. If you are not sure whether your project is Minimal Risk, please refer to your determination letter as of August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Renewals submitted more than 45 calendar days prior to the project\u2019s expiration date will be reviewed and approved as soon as possible after receipt and the project will be given a new period of approval with a new expiration date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewals submitted 45-30 calendar days prior to expiration will be reviewed as normal, maintaining the same period of approval and expiration date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewals submitted within 30 calendar days of the project\u2019s expiration date are not guaranteed review or approval by the project\u2019s expiration date. If the project is not reapproved by its expiration date, it will be administratively closed and must be resubmitted for IRB approval before human subjects research activities can resume.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project status renewal submission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To submit a continuing review, you will need to create a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/349\/2026\/06\/New-Package-Tip.pdf\">new package<\/a>&nbsp;within your currently approved project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Items required for all renewal submissions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete and upload the Project Status Form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete and upload the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/349\/2026\/06\/Project-Personnel-Tip.pdf\">List of Project Personnel<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/349\/2026\/06\/Signing-Tip.pdf\">PI must sign the package<\/a>.
