Compliance considerations

Compliance requirements should be addressed early in the proposal development process to help prevent delays and ensure sponsored projects meet university, sponsor, and federal requirements. Review the following resources to complete applicable disclosures, identify potential conflicts or prohibited activities, and evaluate organizations participating as subrecipients.

Significant financial interest disclosure

Investigators participating in sponsored research may be required to disclose significant financial interests related to their institutional responsibilities. Review the disclosure requirements and complete the Significant Financial Interest Disclosure form when applicable.

Foreign talent recruitment program disclosure

Individuals involved in sponsored projects must disclose participation in foreign talent recruitment programs and identify activities that may require additional review. Use the disclosure form to provide the information needed to evaluate potential compliance concerns.

Subrecipient requirements and risk analysis

When a proposal includes a subrecipient, it is important to determine that the organization is appropriately classified, meets sponsor and university requirements, and can responsibly manage sponsored project funds. Review the subrecipient requirements, complete the required documentation, and use the subrecipient risk analysis tool to evaluate financial, administrative, and compliance risk before submitting the proposal.
