Armed Forces\/Active Duty\/Guard\/Reserve Affidavit<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n
The Armed Forces\/Active Duty\/Guard\/Reserve Affidavit is to be used by the military members, their spouse, or their dependents. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
The student must meet ALL these requirements as defined by the Arizona Board of Regents to be considered an Arizona resident for tuition purposes. Those requirements are:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Active Duty; stationed elsewhere<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The student, their spouse, or are a dependent of, a member of the Armed Forces of the United States stationed outside of Arizona pursuant to military orders and claimed Arizona as the service member’s legal residence for at least 12 consecutive months.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
OR\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Active Duty; stationed in Arizona<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The student their spouse, or are a dependent of, a member of the Armed Forces of the United States stationed is in Arizona pursuant to military orders.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
This exception requires these exact specifications to be met. Definitions and Things to Know:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

\u201cObjective Evidence\u201d<\/span><\/a> means documentation or information other than your own statement(s) of intent.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
The term <\/span>\u201cresident for tuition purposes\u201d<\/span> differs from other definitions of Arizona residency. You can be a resident for other purposes and not be a resident for tuition purposes.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
The residency office will review all facets of your academic career in our review of your petition \u2013 this includes your application for admission, financial aid awards and any communications with the residency office or other NAU offices. We may verify or investigate the authenticity of any documents submitted.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
Missing or incomplete documentation can cause your petition to be denied or delayed. If there is something you cannot provide, please explain in the missing documentation explanation section instead.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
Additional documentation may be requested by the residency office after our initial review of your petition and supporting documents. Please respond promptly to ensure your review can be completed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n

The residency office<\/span> is required to follow Arizona Board of Regents policy, which is state law.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
