Petitions, Affidavits & Deadlines<\/span><\/h2>\n

Below are the available forms to complete to become an Arizona resident for tuition purposes. Read the instructions carefully before completing a petition or affidavit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These steps are intended to guide you through this process; however, it would be impossible to cover everything you might need to know. Our advice to all students is to do their own research on residency requirements and ask questions before submitting a petition or affidavit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Steps to Submitting a Petition or Affidavit:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

  1. Be admitted to NAU.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. If you have a U.S. visa, please review the <\/span>visa information<\/span><\/a> to see if you are eligible for the Arizona resident tuition rate.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Complete the r<\/a><\/span>esidency navigator<\/span><\/a> to see if there is a petition or affidavit that works for you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Find the petition or affidavit you were matched with. Read the instructions and confirm you meet the criteria listed. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Find the next <\/span>upcoming deadline<\/span> and have your petition or affidavit submitted by that date. Residency applications cannot be accepted\u00a0after the deadline for the semester.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
