{"id":159,"date":"2018-06-27T16:37:44","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T23:37:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/graduation-steps\/"},"modified":"2024-11-19T20:13:58","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T20:13:58","slug":"graduation-steps","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/graduation-steps\/","title":{"rendered":"Graduation Steps"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Graduation steps<\/h1>\n<p><strong>You should apply for graduation at least one term\/semester prior to your last term\/semester to guarantee your name is in the <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/graduation-deadlines\/\"><strong>Commencement Booklet.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Enroll in your remaining courses completing your degree requirements.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Check your Academic Advisement Report (AAR) in LOUIE:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>If fully collapsed and all requirements are satisfied move to step 3.<\/li>\n<li>If it is not fully collapsed, requirements remain unsatisfied, and\/or you would like to participate in the upcoming Commencement Ceremony and have your name printed in the Commencement Booklet, check the <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/graduation-deadlines\/\">Commencement Booklet deadline<\/a> and move to step 3 and <a href=\"https:\/\/appointments.nau.edu\/\">schedule<\/a> an appointment with your academic advisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Apply for Graduation:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose the Graduation Term that reflects the last term of your enrollment that completes your NAU degree requirements.\u00a0 Check here for <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/graduation-deadlines\/\">Graduation deadlines<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Verify the name that prints on your diploma.\n<ul>\n<li>If you change your name within the online application this does not change your legal name or the name listed on your official transcripts.<\/li>\n<li>If you need to make a legal name change and\/or need the name on your official transcript and diploma to be an exact match, you will need to file a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/forms-and-policies\/\">name change form<\/a>with the Office of the Registrar before your degree conferral date.<\/li>\n<li>Changes submitted by the application deadline will be reflected in the commencement program.\u00a0If submitted after the deadline, changes will only be reflected on your diploma.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You will receive an email confirming you have applied for graduation.<\/li>\n<li>Verify the diploma address after you apply for graduation.\n<ul>\n<li>If your diploma address is incorrect please update the Diploma address in LOUIE to a residence that is permanent and valid for 6 months after graduation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A $35.00 graduation fee will be charged for each undergraduate degree and\/or certificate.\u00a0 A $50 graduation fee will be charged for each graduate degree and\/or certificate. Graduation fees are charged to your LOUIE Student Center once you have applied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check your email and Monitor\u00a0your\u00a0<u><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/academic-advisement-report\/\">Academic Advisement Report\u00a0<\/a><\/u>(AAR) to ensure you are meeting the requirements to graduate:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The first Monday of every month an email is sent to all students without a fulfilled AAR. Please check for this email and check your AAR accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>All degree requirements must be met with completed coursework and reflected in your AAR by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/graduation-deadlines\/\">graduation term close<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>You should monitor your Academic Advisement Report and NAU email account until your degree is posted to your transcript in LOUIE and your diploma has been received in the mail.<\/li>\n<li>If you have any outstanding transfer coursework or degrees:\n<ul>\n<li>Send your official transcripts to NAU Admissions as soon as your grades post to your transfer institution\u2019s transcript.<\/li>\n<li>NAU only accepts courses in which grades of a \u201cC\u201d or better are earned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check your NAU email account until your degree posts to your Unofficial Transcripts in LOUIE and you receive your diploma in the mail:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Your degree must post with an award date to your Unofficial Transcript in LOUIE. \u00a0If this does not occur a degree has not posted.<\/li>\n<li>If you do not receive a diploma in the mail, you may have entered the incorrect address for your diploma mailing address.<\/li>\n<li>Your Academic Advisor may communicate with you about missing graduation requirements.<\/li>\n<li>If the Registrar\u2019s Office is not able to award a degree you will receive an email from us in the following intervals:\n<ul>\n<li>About 2 weeks after Commencement.<\/li>\n<li>After\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/graduation-deadlines\/\">graduation term close<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Your MyNau.edu student portal has a graduation tab that will also display the following information about your graduation status:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduation status.<\/li>\n<li>Diploma name.<\/li>\n<li>Diploma address.<\/li>\n<li>Instructions on how to make changes to the above bullets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<!-- shortcode-right-column -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-right-column\" >\n    <div class=\"shortcode-right-column__container\">\n<h4>Apply for graduation<\/h4>\n<!-- shortcode-button -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-button shortcode-button--center\">\n      <a class=\"main-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.peoplesoft.nau.edu\/psp\/ps92pr\/EMPLOYEE\/SA\/c\/SA_LEARNER_SERVICES.SSS_GRAD_APPLY.GBL?Page=SSS_GRAD_APPLY&Action=U\">Apply now<\/a>\n  <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Graduation steps You should apply for graduation at least one term\/semester prior to your last term\/semester to guarantee your name is in the Commencement Booklet.
