Credit from other institutions
Transfer credit from an institution that does not have a CHEA-recognized accreditation
Students who have completed learning at an institution that was not accredited by a CHEA-recognized accrediting body may still request evaluation of their learning through the PLA process, even though their credit was denied through the typical institution-to-institution transfer process.
This pathway may include:
- Coursework from non-CHEA-accredited institutions, particularly for healthcare.
- Transfer Enrollment Pipeline Partnerships, such as with Jersey College for Nursing.
Students may be asked to provide:
- Course descriptions
- Syllabi
- Learning outcomes
- Official transcripts from non-CHEA-recognized accredited institutions
- Other supporting documentation
Faculty and academic units review the learning to determine whether it is equivalent to undergraduate-level coursework at NAU.
